• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Short runway & Long runway!

AI aircraft While testing runway 20 at NZCH I have noticed that all AI aircraft land about 6 miles short of the runway. Landing is fine at the other end 02. Any ideas. It looks most strange. Philip

    Short runway & Long runway!

Thanks All, I have created the fake runways between runway 20 and 29 using jim's method and all works great. Aircraft now landing at 29 when strong nor-west wind. I have often seen the 737 land on the runway 29. They fly over my house for that runway. Yes they do use up every inch of the runway...

    Short runway & Long runway!

Yes NZCH. The main runway has ILS, but to test I added ILS to 29 but no change. I was using real wx conditions. And you could be right about Banks Peninsula having an affect. And in real conditions the 737 does land on this short runway. How do those curved approaches etc work? Thanks for help...

    Short runway & Long runway!

At the local airport the main runway is 3288 meters and the cross runway is 1741 meters. Main is 02 - 20 and the cross runway is 11 - 29. We often have very strong winds from the north west which gets most planes in real life to land on the 29 runway into the wind. Is there a way to make this...

    AI at uncontrolled airports

Most developers add a tower radio frequency at uncontrolled airports but all you need is a 'MULTICOM' frequency such as 119.2 and all the AI traffic will work fine.

    AI Traffic and Uncontrolled airports

I have noticed somewhere that airports need a Tower frequency for AI traffic to work. This is partly correct. All the airport needs is a Multicom frequency for the aircraft to use as it arrives at or leaves the airport. There does need to be tower point at the airport, but not a visible tower...

    Remove airport NZMF

Thanks Pascal for your help. Yes there must be something in the scenery we don't know about yet. Any other scenery that I have modified so far has worked fine. We wait for further developments. Cheers Philip

    Remove airport NZMF

The runway Thanks Pascal, I am able now to completely remove the old airport and flatten the ground to 10 feet but when I load the new runway (including yours, pascal) it is floating in the air at about 800 feet, the original height of the airport. There must be some invisable bit that I...

Ideas for a new scenery design tool

My head herts Greetings All, Yes an AFCAD type tool would be great. At the moment like many of you I am using the tools that came with FSX. But right at the moment my head hurts. I wait with eagerness for a better scenery maker tool. Cheers all Philip

    Remove airport NZMF

NZMF (Milford, New Zealand) in the default FSX scenery is at about 800 feet when it should be at 10 feet above sea level. Around the airport boundry there are cliffs going down to correct ground level. All the ground outside the airport is at correct height. I have tried flatten - that flattens...
