• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Was able to create it in the airport OK, but ADE crashed when I tried to edit complexity in the edit page. I tried to save, and, hey presto!

The object is in the appropriate Scenery folder.

Why was I using this set instead of the built in ones? Because YMML has a group of them off one of the aprons, down at the South end, and i didn't actually want the tarmac markings that the "real" one generates.

Sorry John I do not have a answer since I do not use any of the RWY12 objects. For the most part they are FS9 and the .mdl's are written for the FS9 compiler and not the FSX compiler.

Have you considered using all the different static Jetways that shipped with FSX but are not used?

These jetways are 100 percent SP1a and SP2 and there are about 20 to choose from. The .mdl is placed in the Model List of ADE and the bgl that holds the sceneryobject is placed with the Library Tool. These Jetway also give you a thumbnail. The texture files for these FSX Jetways are already in the .dds format by default.

here I show on the asphalt a sample of one FSX jetway I am using as an extension for the double animated

Because they are static and made by the FSX artist they do not add any markings to the Apron.

If you want to look at some of these jetways in ADE I can give a short step process.

FSX for some reason coverted all these from bmp's to .dds and set the .mdl as per the FSX compiler. FSX then loaded them but used the animated air_jetway01 for every airport. I suppose FSX was going to use them but decided at the last moment to animate a single jetway.

On a non related topic that we discussed previously this airport is pushing 25Mb in .ade and I still have the 3rd runway and Terminals to work up with some more LC and Miles of animated Traffic to go on the new roads I had to add as per Google Earth.

Jim

where abouts are these extensions?
i can only see the static jetway01 in the library objects/airport objects,
do these others need to be added? or do i need to point ADE to them?

That error is coming from the Graphics Engine. I would need to look at it (and the log) when I get home
