• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

3D Studio Max plugins in the SDK? What do they do?

I'm very curious what the 3D Studio Max plugins included in the SDK provide. Do they offer things that Blender's GLtf import/export don't?

What are the pros and cons of using 3DS vs Blender for developing mods and assets for MSFS? I'm an experienced 3D art professional, but just trying to get started with MSFS development.

My experience is mostly with Maya, I think there's plugins for GLtf for Maya, but I'm not sure what state they are in. Does anyone use Maya for MSFS dev? I have to say Blender is looking impressive from what I've seen playing with it a bit. But Asobo and ORBX are using 3D Studio I believe? What advantages are they getting by using that over Blender? I know plenty of previous 3D studio users who prefer Blender in general.

If any of the 60+ people who read this thread and had no comment are curious, read here.

Sorry, I did see this earlier, and did meant to post the info which I put in the other thread, but I was only reminded while reading the other thread....
