• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Thak you very Much Kris :)
Kourou is Finished :) I'm trying to Upload it on AVSim ans Simviation, it ta a While x')

I saw you Ultra Light, did you know that at Kourou Airstrip, there are the same kind of Ultra Light used? :)

About Blender, what is the difference between Sketchup and Blender? Blender model are more realistics? Shadow textures? :/ (for me, the 2 differences are: Blender is HARDER, and, Blender can be used for A/C developpment (and I want a Let410 xD).

I'll continue on Sketchup, but, I Download Blender to so, you will teach me (abou Scenery ans Aircraf Conception) If you have time for me :)

Thank you very much, and This was my 100th messages :p

Grtz, Aviana Scenery :)

I've found that is possible to export Sketchup model to Blender :) what dou you think? :)

Hahaha :D; any teacher here :)

Then, My scenery SHOULD be uploades on AVSim ans Simviation, but I can't find it with search tool or else.
you can try to found it :)and put the links here :)

Well.. you can't just take a model from sketchup and put in blender, it will make weird edges and won't look any better, if you want to use blender I recommend you use it on a next project ;)

BTW Brian, curious if you actually need to do anything special for an FSX scenery in Blender, rather then to model it.... I wouldn't know why you'd need to do anything different from a normal Blender operation (you would with aircraft') but with scenery you just export it, take it through a converter and your done.... (?)

okay thx :)

But, what is the differece between Sketchup and Blender? does Blender models looks more realistic? texures? enhaced shadows?

Hi Marc L!

I would not mind at all helping you to learn Blender. If there is something you do not understand using Blender let me know and I will do my best to help you with it.

Thanks, Kris:)

Hi F747fly!

The only thing that I have found that is different between modeling aircraft and scenery items is when using level of detail(LOD). To get the LOD's to work correctly in a scenery project you have to apply some type of animation to force FSX to make a drawcall.

Thanks, Kris:)

Hi Marc L!

I have not used Sketchup before, so I cannot really compare the two. But I have used 3DS Max before. So I can compare 3dS Max to Blender. If you have the money to purchase 3DS Max and you are going to try to start a carrier modeling I would most definitely go with 3DS Max, because it is one of the industrial standards. Most companies that hire or purchase models look for modelers that use 3DS Max or Maya. That would be my only reason for choosing 3DS Max over Blender. Blender can do most of the things that either 3DS Max or Maya can do. Blender is an increasable powerful 3D software that is growing in what it can do every month. And I hope eventually it will be recognized as one of the industrial standards for 3D modeling.

I hope this help.

Thanks, Kris:)

Nice, thanks for the link :)

and, Jo told me to try another Modeller (Blender) becase it is more realistic :) (Ambiant occlusion feature etc)

Who support me by switching sowtware? :)

I agree with Daan. Blender is a very nice program. I'm not an expert with is but I persoanlly think I get better models out of it then I did with Sketchup...
