• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 A ground poly issue -- flashing polys

I'll put this here, although I don't think it's a MCX issue, rather a problem with Prepar3d v4. And I don't mean the new PBR textures, but it did only turn up in P3Dv4.4, I think.
This shows up as some textures dropping out and reappearing as you change the view.
It first showed up with a scenery I released back in P3Dv2 days, Real NZ Dunedin. At the time it was reported, I was aware that there was a scenery bug in Prepar3d v4.4 which had just been fixed in 4.5, so I put it down to that. However the Dunedin issue has persisted into v4.5.
When I was putting together the NZCH release, I suddenly has a similar issue there, and I tracked it down to the just-completed runway GP at a nearby airfield. It turned out that reusing the same textures for ground markings at the two airports caused this, but I removed the other airfield from the release so I could figure this out properly. (The fact that it ended up in the release was one of those stupid developer mistakes which shouldn't happen.)
Today, after a discussion over at avsim, one of those affected says he has tracked it down to the GP at the nearby airfield to dunedin, Taieri. Removing the Taieri GP fixes Dunedin airport. This makes sense based on what I learnt with NZCH, but I've yet to find the time to test or fix this.
I thought I'd post this here for info, but also for any ideas on what might be going on here. Anyone seen anything similar with P3Dv4? Since it only just turned up, it is probably something which LM have done to Prepar3d with their recent update. But maybe not, hence the call for ideas.
