• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Blender Add html instruments to virtual cockpit

Hi all,

I'm trying to convert the blender build Challenger 650 i created for X-plane to a working version of the same aircraft in MSFS. Sofar i've got the outside model, textures and some of the animations working. The inside model (virtual cockpit) is also visible in MSFS, but sofar without any working switches and digital instruments. I have a question about adding the digital instruments. As base for the model i used the CJ4. When i add the VC of the CJ4 to my model, it works correctly. What i'm trying to do now is add the CJ4 PFD and MDF to the screens of the challenger virtual cockpit. In X-plane this means adding the vc cockpit texture and ticking the box that the part is actually part of the VC. What i remember from Gmax and FSx is somewhat the same, you add a texture with a name starting with $ and you tick the vc box. The name of the texture has to correspond with the vtexture name in panel.cfg.

Using Blender2MSFS, i just cannot get this to work.

The CJ4 uses the $MFD_Screen and $PFD_Screen in the panel.cfg as the name for the textures. When i use these texture names in blender and i export (can't tick a box that this is part of the VC, no such box exists as far as i can tell) nothing hapens. When i put a normal texture on the same part it is visible, but with these names it just turns black. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this working?
