• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Adding models from FSDS 3.51

Hello scruffyduck.
Just now getting back into scenery design. Have used earlier ADE's in the past. Very good program.
In FSDS 3.51, I've been creating scenery mdl's of buildings, bus's and other stuff and using the "models" in the list by adding them which I am able to have ADE place it in the airport for me and running FS2004 they show up with no problems.
When I take the aircraft I made in FSDS 3.51 and do the same for them by adding them to the model list and then compiling the airport, I run FS2004 and it says its loading new scenery then FS2004 stops responding when trying to load the object (static aircraft).

Hello.
Yes. Compiled it as scenery objects. Been going back and forth between FSDS and Max 2012. I think I have it narrowed down (the problem).
In Max 2012, on my Herc, I deleted all of the propellers and exported it as an X file then compiled it as a scenery object (mdl) and placed it into ADE and placed it in FS2004. It loads up and shows fine.
Going to go back into MAX 2012, and delete each set of propellers (the ones with animation stuff) and see what happens. If it works good, then I'll go into FSDS and do the same with the propellers and then post my findings here.

Hello.
Yep. Its definitely the animation stuff that's causing the problem.
Took 2 of my models in FSDS, stripped all animations from them (except for the lights), exported to a scenery file (mdl), loaded them in ADE and added models to scenery and they come up good.
On ailerons, flaps, elevators and rudders had to rename the parts so when they were compiling into the scenery mdl, it would not be tagged as an animation also even tho I stripped the animation keys.
On the landing gear, stripped the animation keys, renamed them and moved them to the down position.

Static Aircraft .mdl Maker (SAMM) - http://stuff4fs.com - converts just about any flyable or AI aircraft to a scenery model with whatever animation you want employed. Save the aircraft to your Aircraft/SimObjects folder in the usual manner and them let SAMM at it. Presto! Eye candy.

Please try again. I released an update this morning to address a change in P3D v2.5 and neglected to update the website link.
