• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

After what seems a very long time I am delighted to offer the first public alpha for ADE 2020 (alpha 11). I would like to express my greatest thanks to the alpha test team - you know who you are - for helping me to get this far. I need to say that this is an Alpha. That means it is not complete, not bug free, and lacking in the niceties of a polished interface. This is from the notes and provides an indication of where we are. This version of ADE is separate and distinct from the version for FS9 > P3Dv5 The placement of files is different and the primary project structure follows that required for the new sim.

It can be currently create new projects from a range of inputs including:
  • Empty Project
  • From MSFS Base Files (APX)
  • From ADE project file (.ad4)
  • From Bgl file (not MSFS)
  • From XML file
  • From MSFS Bgl file (in test)
It can be used in several ways:
  • To use the XML source as a starter for your own project
  • To create, edit and build a package ready for the Community folder
  • To create the project, modify it and then use the results with the in sim tools
  • To create a template project from a base MSFS file or other source which is used directly thereafter with the in sim tools.
Please read the notes carefully before installing.

Please be aware of the known issues list. Please note that some features are not optimised for performance and can thus be very slow. If you are familiar with ADE (which is a requirement really) don't dive straight in before reading the notes. Some things are quite different for ADE 1.78/1.79

You can download the installer from here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/6if510yx8kmhkvq/ade20_alpha-11_installer.zip/file

Please check the known issues list before reporting a problem. Please post issues, problems and questions in new threads.

Thanks everyone for taking a look and I would like to wish everyone a healthy, safe and prosperous 2021

I have updated the notes which can be downloaded without the ADE install from here https://www.mediafire.com/file/eke8lo9jsbgm1mc/ADE+2020+ALPHA+11+NOTES+V2.pdf/file

Thanks thanks thanks with SDK I keep banging my head on the wall.
Merry Christmas and 2021

Merry Christmas and thank you. Downloaded and installed without difficulty thanks to excellent instructions. Did a project in 5 minutes to place a badly needed exclusion polygon and everything worked perfectly. It would have taken me half a day with the MSFS SDK. Now to read the instructions and attempt some real airport scenery.
