• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 ADE and FS2020

I believe when you select to Edit Scenery it defaults to a top down view. And also when you click on an object on the scene.
I apologize, this does not seem like the right place for this query, I am sorry but it is important for me, I will move it to another forum, thank you very much "Support By Fire" for the help, I will contact you privately if I can to exhaust the thread

You get a top down view with the dev camera if you doubleclick on any object in scenery editor window and it centers on top of that object (runway, taxiway point, model, whatever you have added)!

Hi Again Jon:

It would be Great in your ADE MSFS 2020 if you could start with a basic version which would just add a Simple Airport to MSFS 2020, trying to do this following the SDK and some tutorials is very complicated if you are not up to date in so many techniques which us that do not have time nor the knowledge to delve into all the Mumbo Jumbo of the top notch velopment world. Oh, yes you should Charge for the new Program.

Not quite. You have to use "Developer camera" which has different controls from the "Drone Camera". I have dabbled with the internal tools for a couple of days just filling in missing hangers/buildings from my home airport and while usable, I find it difficult and slow to use. I definitely prefer ADE any day and will use it if Jon offers it.

Thanks guys - I am working on it honest ;) But there is a long way to go. Some new elements and a lot of new attributes.

Downloaded ADE to take a look last night but hadn't realised I had to have one of the other flight sims installed to use it (makes perfect sense), but from what I have seen in the docs etc it looks amazing, so I would definitely be interested in a FS 2020 version when its available.

I second that.

We are very fortunate Jon has decided to draw upon his many years of learning about MSFS-2Kx / FSX / LM-P3D to now work on updating ADE for use with MSFS-2020. :)

Many thanks, Jon., for all your hard work in this- and other- areas of endeavor ...which has made so many good things possible for the FS Development Community. :wizard:

I have been using ADE for so many years, as many of you, that I feel naked under the shower with no water, hot or cold, with this SDK's Mine field one has to cross just to make one tiny little grass airfield........like the great Roman ships, bottom floor, keep rowing and don't cuss or you won't get supper.

I just wish I were a bit further ahead of y'all with understanding the Mumbo Jumbo :)
