• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

AGN Merge Tool

I find the bug: the "Out Format" is no more checked by default... to do it work -> check the "AGN FSX" radiobutton before merging or convert... or wait a minute for a new debugged version... sorry :)

I see that my translation mod don't work fine at that time so don't wasp to much time to make your own language file for the moment... :(

note: I change the screenshot of the first post... in frenchglish now ;)

Good news Carsten :)

Sorry but some change in the lng file:

from English.lng to English2.15b.lng
replace:
Code:

by
Code:

from English2.15b.lng to English2.16b.lng
replace:

replace:
Code:

by
Code:

replace the last caracteres of the second line:

edit: I've just update the last AGN Merge Tool package to include "Englishv2.16b.lng"

Hi,

new version with new function:

This will allow to automatically assign a GUID to small rectangles of vegetation depending on your tiles large polygons Vegetation present.

Interest of thing: You have one hand, the vegetation that you generate through AgenT or Autotree and to the benefit of glue hair cell textures tiles generated with FS Earth Tile but the disadvantage of having only one tree species by default. On the other hand you generate your polygons vegetation data from Corine 2006 with the appropriate GUID with Scenproc but these polygons are not a military precision odometer and sometimes gives effect on a slab inappropriate photo.

This option keeps the best of both techniques. We only keep the AgenT trees placed with precision and they automatically assigns a GUID based on polygons surrounding Corine 2006.

example:
Slab including FS9 trees (green) generated by agent and vegetation polygons (brown) from the past by Corine2006 scenepoc.
avt_autoveget.jpg

passed through the same slab AGN Merge Tool with automatic assignment of vegetation agent GUID (brown polygons as Corine2006) and GUID default (blue) for those outside polygons ..
apres_autoveget.jpg

Note that the borders around Polygons are not obvious because I built taking into account a certain radius polygons and a slight random distribution of tree species based on the existing GUID slabs.

More for slabs with no vegetation polygons, a random distribution of some trees is based on the GUID of Polygons Corine2006 present on the tiles surrounding ...

I've created a sample Area located in France, Loire(42). the packfile contain a kml file to locate the area in google earth, 63 AGN of each type of Tiles (RectVeget, Polyveget & Mask) and the PartialFSEarthTiles.ini (drag & drop on FSEarthTiles windows) to generate the Image Tiles of the area. you can download it here: AGN of a Test Area

bonus ... a small diagram to summarize the work to be done -> Landscape Gardner tool

And finally the software Updated: AGN Merge Tool v2.18 beta EN

note: Arno, may be could you add support of AGN format in Enter of your tools in addition of supporting it in OUT... it would be usefull to apply the variety of filter of scenproc on AGN feature, the attributes should be type(AGN_RectVeget, AGN_Polyveget, GenericBuilding,AGN_Library, etc..), the size(W,D) and of course the GUID ? may be it's harder to do cause of small area in each files. So the "shapefileimport" step should be better point on a AGN folder for example instead of only one agn file.

Hello
I am not sure if I'm the correct section
I have a question about merging 2 agn files.
When I have a list of duplicate files ready to merge and they are displayed in the graphics boxes . Does one take president of the other ? . For example if I have 2 duplicate files and both say has auto gen buildings in the same location . Does one override the other and if so which file would take president ? Thanks

Hi,

You would just get two buildings at the same location. The merging doesn't check for duplicates.

I would recommend to convert the agn-files with ScenProc to a shapefile and then load it to a GIS software and check for duplicate features.
After correcting the shapefile you can compile the agn again with ScenProc.
