• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

Yes, scenProc can import AGN files and export to GIS formats like SHP. You need to use the ImportAGN and ExportOGR steps for that. Be sure to use the option to create features from the AGN files in ImportAGN.

Thanks, Arno.
Unfortunatly, I get this error while importing AGN files:

Did you send in the error report? That should help me to debug.

And can you show me the script you used?

Report sent.
This is the script:

Code:
ImportAGN|E:\POS Israel V2\POS AGN June 5th|CREATEFEATURES

ExportOGR|*|ESRI Shapefile|ILAGN|ILAGN

I don't see the report in my bug tracker, but I'll try to reproduce it here.

By the way, I recommend to use the MergeGrid-Step, to avoid getting thousands of shapefiles...

Using MergeGrid is a very good tip, I would do the same :)

I had a look at my ImportAGN test cases, but they run fine. I even extended them a bit to make sure all types of AGN objects are included in the test. But I don't get a crash here. So I think it must be something in one of the AGN files. But without a stack trace to show where the error happens it's hard to debug (the error report didn't get through for some reason).

For some reason I get another error when I try to send the report. Is there a way to manually send the required logs to you?

I got the report now. I can see it's a vegetation polygon that gives the error. Seems the vertices don't form a closed line string.

Nope, unfortunately not.

I'll see if I can make the reading more robust and skip polygons with issues.

Hi,

Sorry, I forgot to look at this one for a while. I have made a change now in the AGN importer that should hopefully make it more robust. But without having a file to reproduce the issues I can't tell for sure of course :). It's in the new development release that should be online in about 30 minutes.
