• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

AI Ship routes for free

In the SimDocks Forum there is now also AI traffic available for free download. The routes for Henriks ships and the SimDocks ships are created by forum members.
It all started with Pete, who created the shipping traffic for Lake Constance.
Prerequisite for using the routes is the installation of Henriks "Global AI Ship Traffic" and the required SimDocks freeware ships.

The routes can be downloaded from the German part as well as the English part of the forum.

That's right, for the download(s) you have to be registered in the forum and the SimDocks Website.
The routes in other forums (AVSIM, Simviation etc.) can only be uploaded by the creator, because they are his routes and he has the copyright (even if it is freeware).

I can only repeat it over and over. The Lake Constance region is and remains one of my favorite and most beloved flying areas. This results from the proximity to Switzerland. Switzerland is the most beautiful flying area par excellence. Thanks for the effort and that there is finally good boat traffic on Lake Constance.

This is a mistaken assumption, made in favor of protecting intellectual property ownership. The software is already being shared on the forum and the individual - forum moderator, website owner, etc. - who has been granted the right to share the software, does not expose Avsim, or any other sharing site, to liability for sharing software that has already been released, to be shared - unless the original author specifically directed that the software be released only through the SimDocks forum.

Sorry, the other way around, that'll be correct. The author must explicitly allow the distribution by third parties (e.g. in a readme.txt).

But honestly, I don't understand this discussion! If the author wanted to upload his work to other forums or databases, he would have (maybe he still does).
But it's not my decision and I'll do the devil with it to possibly put me in somebody's nettles.

Furthermore, everyone has to register at SimDocks to download the SimDock ship models the routes also work with.

Well, I've experienced the unsolicited flattery of having the very large and popular site "Rikoo," download, modify and redistribute one of my own humble offerings, in arguably a more optimal state, as one of their very few scenery titles; so you'd have to forgive my somewhat broadened perspective.

It is actually very gracious of you to maintain the resource of your website for everyone, imo. Truly, you are a pillar of the community, thank you.

Rikoo and Simviation users do that a lot. There are so many unauthorized re-uploads there. The worst is when people upload "FSX conversions" of FS9 aircraft when really all they did was add thumbnails.

Now "Pete" has also published shipping traffic for Lake Genver and Lake Garda in the SimDocks forum.

As for Lake Constance, the prerequisites for using the routes are the installation of Henriks Global AI Ship Traffic and the required SimDocks freeware ships.

Pete is very busy there, soon the ship traffic for Lago Maggiore will follow.
