• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

AI traffic not moving

Hey guys
new to thread thanks to Admin....damb spammers!
anyways
when using ai flight planner for fsx..all works great if I ust GMT time
( 1500gmt = 0900standard )..so if i do that for cyyz and go to fsx main menu and make sure im in 0900 standard time flight plans I created work.
now...if while in traffic editor I use standard time for fsx and go to cyyz for example 0900 standard time as I look around I will see my traffic I just created in standard time sitting in parking spot but after 5-10 min they don't move or communicate to atc.
wierd....
any ideas how to ensure traffic will go in standard time so I dont have to convert the time zones when moving locations
thanks
Glenn

Welcome to the Forum.

My guess is that your FPs are fine since you have seen AI work. My suggestion would be to install Traffic Toolbox from the FSX SDK. This will tell you what FSX sees as far as departures and arrivals. It may be a case of not going to the airport at the proper time to see your AI. I always use GMT, but I don't write FPs that have a certain schedule, just circuits that get AI into my airports.
I have to look up how to install Traffic Toolbox. I have it on my desktop(it's been along time since I did that), but not my laptop, which is where I am moving everything.

Hi,

Standard what?
As far as I know Toronto is GMT-5. So, 15H00 GMT is 10H00 local.
So maybe you have to wait a while longer to see them move?
It is not a good idea to use local time for making FPs. It leads to confusion.
Besides, go from Toronto to Indiana and you could end up with some more confusion because of local times (i.e when FSX is true to real world time zones):).

Right now we are in a paradox related to time zones and UTC/GMT offsets in the United States and Canada.

Your computer knows that Daylight Savings Time has been implemented.

FS2004 and FSX do not know that DST has been implemented. They still think it will start the first Sunday in April.

That makes trying to ensure UTC to local offsets are correct and that the AI traffic takes off at the correct local time very difficult. And if you get it set correctly today, in two weeks it might be off an hour again.

Ok
but the problem I get is when I make a fp , if I use GreenwichMean Time say (1500 for cyyz its 0900 standard time ) the flights work...now if I leave the program in standard time and create a fp for cyyz 0900 the plane will show up but not move even if I speed upthe time nothing happens..weird
hopefully I didn't confuse anyone ..
the program works for me but I have to have Greenwich Mean Time checked instead of standard and go into fsx time selectiion for that airport or country to see the difference so I can see the action happening.
Glenn.

ok I got it working
basically it is putting my fp's 1hr ahead of my time that I created in standard time....I sat at airport and 4x time and when it hit 1000am my created 0900 started to move and do their thing...
yea....

Sure makes for a Log Book to add 1hr to every flight crossing the time zones here in the states. I log one extra hour of flight during the paradox :D
