• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

Like the title says, aifp is now looking to my documents / add ons for ai aircraft. Can I change this setting or are all my traffic files toast? LOL
I tried everything I could think of.

A little further explanation would be very helpful. When did this start? Was it working properly before? Why do you think this is the case. What function are you using when this occurs? What version of FS are you using? etc.

Sorry. It worked fine last time I used it 2 weeks ago. P3Dv5.1 is my Flight Sim of choice currently. I opened it yesterday and all my traffic files say my aircraft are not available. When I go to substitute, it only lets me see the few in my documents/p3d addons folder.

AIFP finds aircraft the same way P3D does. It looks at C:\ProgramData|Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\simobjects.cfg. Has your simobjects.cfg been corrupted?

What has happened to your system in the past two weeks. Have you perhaps loaded a new add-on into Documents\Prepar3d v5 Add-ons? What version of AIFP are you using? Is it the same version you were using two weeks ago?

No idea. Thanks anyway. That's mostly above my paygrade. LOL. I'll just move all my AI aircraft to that folder so my traffic shows up. Thanks Gadget.

You must consider your pay grade to be rather low given the questions I asked.

While moving your aircraft to Documents MAY "make AIFP happy", it could very well introduce other issues, starting with P3D. You would be well advised to seek out an understanding of what caused this and what it's effects will be - starting with what has happened to your system over the past couple of weeks.

But, it's your call.
