• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v3 AIFP Version 3.2.04 - Collect Airport Data Problems

Hi,

somehow it is impossible for me to update the "Addon Airports Data" via " Menu/Airports/Find/Collect Airports".

If I choose the "Scenery Library" I am getting 2 errors.
The 1st one is "Unable to locate FSX Scenery Library" and after I am closing this, the 2nd one is "Unable to locate Scenery Library".
Finally this step is working only if I 1st select the "Directory Tre" and then the "Scenery Library".

At the end if I manage somehow to be at the step where I have to click the "Collect", I am waiting and waiting and the button is grey, nothing happens further.

As you can see I am using P3D v.3, no other simulator is installed.

Thanks in advance

I have managed to come so far,

but after I am clicking "Select all active titles" and "Use selected", the "Collect airports data" window is blank.

Christopher, this problem (which has been around for many months) was first reported a few days ago and is fixed in Development Release 3.2.01(a).

Christoper, there's been quite a bit of "water under the bridge" re code updates, since you first reported this issue. In particular, I have extensively reworked the Collect Add-on Airports to facilitate the Traffic and Parking Analyser. So, I seriously doubt it's the same problem - though the symptoms may be similar. I am unable to generate either error with the latest development release.

It would help. therefore, if you described, step-by-step, what you are doing to cause the problem and what, exactly, are the messages you are getting. Use screenshots if that's easier for you.

Don

PS. Please check the title bar on the Main Panel to ensure you are actually using Development Release 3.2.04(g), and not General Release 3.2.04.

Hi again,

Don what is happening is exactly as before and as I have describe it at the 1st post above. Tests done with "Developer v aifp3204(g)".

Christopher. Does the title bar on the Main panel actually specify "AI Flight Planner - Version 3.23.04(g) - ....."?

As I reported yesterday, I am unable to duplicate the problem - which is why I asked for step-by-step instructions to induce it. As a minimum, I need to know what was selected and displayed on the Collect Airports dialog just prior to you taking whatever action that produced the result you report. A screenshot would help.

It's amazing how one little detail can make such a difference.

In your first report you said:
As you can see I am using P3D v.3, no other simulator is installed.
but, since you didn't include any image, I didn't give it the importance it needed. You were checking P3Dv3 but getting a FSX error message. Unfortunately (as it turns out), the same error message resulted from checking the FSX box - and that's the problem that got fixed earlier.

Now to the current development release, while the symptoms are the same, the cause is quite different. Now that I can see you are checking the P3Dv3 box and getting these (FSX) messages, I can not only duplicate the problem, it was easy to locate.

Stay tuned for another development release. In the meantime, you have to use the directory tree.
