• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Airport Name & ATC

In the past, I was able to successfully add "Hernando County" to my KBKV AFCAD so that ATC announced the name, but I forgot how I did it.

The old AFCAD still works in P3D v4.4. ATC says Hernando County Tower so I know it works, but now have a new AFCAD and for the life of me I don't remember what I did.

Can someone please refresh my memory.

Thanks.

Jose

In both AFCADs, use ADE to check the items in "LIST > COMMS". Does the new one show the same items?

The new KBKV afcad has more comms than the older one. Could this be the issue? The important comms (ground) (tower) are on both.

What's interesting is that the old AFCAD that I created a long time ago works but the new KBKV doesn't work even though I have already created the editvoicepack modification for KBKV.

I match airport names on each AFCAD and I stll can't get ATC to say the name of the airport. It's driving me nuts.:)

Interesting that, when I put an aircraft at KBKV in my FSXA, and tune to the local traffic frequency, the announcement is " ...... Hernando County Traffic .... ", so the appropriate voice already exists.
In the stock FSX airport file, when opened in ADE, the list includes "KBKV Unicom Hernando Co" and
"KBKV CTAF Hernando Co" .
If your listing shows "Hernando County" rather than "Hernando Co" then try altering it?

Thanks! I tried Hernando Co, Hernando County KBKV, and Brooksville and none work with this new AFCAD.

What happens if you temporarily disable your versions of KBKV in the sim scenery - thus reverting to the default version?

Can you provide screenshots, from ADE > Lists > Comms, of both of your versions?

With the default AFCAD & the new AFCAD ATC does not say the name of the airport.

With the old AFCAD it says the name of the airport, "Brooksville Tower" Brooksville Ground" etc

BTW, I did try matching the comm info and airport name Hernando Co and it still will not work.

Issue resolved.

I had to add an exclusion box, then add the Comms and it's finally working.

No idea why an 'exclusion box' wil have any effect on the Comms but as long as you have it sorted then well done.

This is the Comms list generated from my FSXA default KBKV. The entries for KBKV seem vastly different from your versions.

[EDIT}
Just looked up this airport and found that it has been renamed to "Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional" after a lot of discussion.
