• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

P3D v4 All ADE GPs destroyed when placed on a particular area of an airport

Hey Guys,

I'm quite new to scenery development, I'm creating a few Indian Airports for P3D.

I'm having this strange ground poly issue at VOML Mangalore Airport which is known for it's tabletop nature.

Apparently, when I'm placing a polygon in the orange circled area below in the attached screenshot, ALL THE OTHER POLYS are getting destroyed even at lower mesh resolution!
And the polys placed in black circled area are being displayed with other polys only at and less than 36M mesh resolution!

I'm not sure but I suspect something to do with elevation or something which I'm not able to get hold of...

Could someone please help out?

I don't have the problem. Perhaps your terrain options (Options/Graphics/World) are too low. Mesh resolution must be less than any significant change in elevation - and you are trying to go from 102M to 30m instanteously.

Try putting all your terrain sliders to the right.

I’m having a similar issue at Ushuaia, SAWH. Does VOBL lie on a Qmid 11 boundary? That’s the only thing I can think of, it is an issue for me at SAWH.

The GP manual mentions a bit about this. I tried moving the airport center point North across the boundary in my project, but it did not help. You might want to try that though, maybe it helps your case.
 
If you are using a recent version of ADE-GP, it will tell you if its a QMID11 problem.

More likely it's an elevation issue. I've been to Ushuaia several times and, I can assure you , there's not much level ground. Has the entire area covered by GP been flattened?
