Hello all!

Let me start by apologizing to you who may take me as a lazyass - thats not my intent :)
I've searched and searched for tutorials and material on how to make and animate for FSX/P3D purposes, paticulary a windsock which rotates by direction of the wind but have been to find any (very) useful information as to regarding how to make one.

What I need is basically someone to point me in to the right direction and maybe share your knowledge on the subject. And before you ask, no I don't want already animated windsock - I just want to learn myself how to do it properly.I am very experienced in sketchup and have a little bit of knowledge of Blender.

I have a project going on with a set deadline in september and I would just looove if I managed to have a working windsock on the day of the release!

Thank you all!

Best way is probably be SODE.

It works by making a few models for different wind speeds which are all animated to wind direction.
I think there's one among the samples too.
You can also add an ambient animation to shake the windsock a little bit.

You will have to use Blender, SketchUp can't do that animaton stuff and you still need the DS related toolset.
