• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Blender and Asobo exporter help

I have Blender 3.1 LTS installed
I have followed the instruction on installing the Asobo Exporter.
The "glTF-Blender-IO-MSFS-main" folder shows up under the Blender/scripts.

I can find the add-on anywhere to enable it, searched for Microsoft, MSFS. I can't find it anywhere.

I have un-installed Blender and cleaned out all files and re-installed Blender and the Asobo Tool but no luck.

Any Ideas

Download from https://github.com/AsoboStudio/glTF-Blender-IO-MSFS

The version 1.3.x is only compatible with Blender 3.3.x LTS. Other versions are not supported.

The extension should be installed to Blender Foundation/Blender 3.1/3.1/scripts/addons/ as a folder called "io_scene_gltf2_msfs"

It appears in the Preferences - Add-ons as Import-Export: Microsoft Flight Simulator glTF Extension.

if you have a folder called "glTF-Blender-IO-MSFS-main" in the Blender/scripts then you've stuffed something up.

Here are the install instructions:

The exporter is found in the SDK in the Tools folder.
In Blender:

After installation, The keyboard "n" can reveal the addon's export options panel.
The Materials window shows the MSFS-specific material options. Vanilla gltf (non-MSFS) displays just fine in the sim. The Addon controls the special materials used in only the sim.

Thanks for the Help.
I re-installed Blender 3.6 and placed it on my D drive where the User folders are, that might have been the issue.
Download the Exporter again.
Got the Exporter to install (YEA!!!)

But when I try and enable it this is the error report
