• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

The model is now in the sim. There is a tagging issue with the right flaps that I forgot to fix in this screenshot, but other than that, the model has been working beautifully. I will have to adjust alpha maps and add sine reflection maps as well, and finalize some missing items like the missing cockpit section.

This so great! When will it be released? And I hate to ask, but are y'all considering a CF6-50 model with tape engine gauges😅? Can't wait to try it out!

I really cant give an accurate answer as to when it will come out, as software development isn't exactly the most linear thing to predict.

CF6-50 and tapes are a feature that will be after the initial 1.0 release, mainly due to lack of information regarding the CF6s compared to their PW counterparts. The RB211 is even more allusive in terms of information, and I would need an engine manual specifically from RR to accurately simulate the fuel controller, as unfortunately even 747 AMMs for RB211s dont describe it in detail.

The PW is the 747 classic's engine model, super iconic. CF6's would just be a fun addition nothing more:).

I've got a full 747 classic maint doc package, including AMM, SSM, WDM, FIM etc. I believe all three engine variants. Let me know if you're interested😁!

That would actually be useful, I only have the AMM. The WDM in particular would be useful, for wiring simulation purposes

You are a legend my man. I might consider circuit breaker functionality after seeing the FIMs and WDMs.
anytime:)! But the fact that you guys know how to convert that into an actual sim is extremely impressive, especially if adding CB's😅!

Looks really great! It is like a trip back in time - reminds me on the countless hours that I have spent with the programming of the RFP 747 systems and gauges a very long time ago.

awesome to see you here! I really enjoyed the RFP 74

Great work; will you be making the SUD and 300 model ?
There isn't any functional or visual difference between the SUD and 300, apart from newer line number 300s having a different wing body fairing, the latter of which I do not plan on doing. The same can be said for the SR domestic 747s, there is no functional difference between it and the -200B (unlike the -400D), other than fuel capacity being limited by regulations and not becsuse the fuel tanks are physically smaller.

I also don't anticipate doing the small amount of 300s that had CF6-80s instead of the CF6-50s that other classic variants had. The -80s are FADEC controlled, but considering the classics had no FADEC it leads to me believe the -80 either did not install a FADEC or the 300s that did have them installed a FADEC. I won't actually know until I get more specific maintenance manuals for specifically the very few CF6-80 747-300s, which I expect to be quite rare and thus the likelihood I touch this variant is close to zero.

The 100, 200SF, SP, and 300 are planned for some version in the future.

Yes, I know there's no difference between the SUD and the 300; I was just saying that with a modification, you'd have more models.
I have a list of all the 747 Classics ever produced; would that be useful to you?

Sorry for my poor English 😢

Not particularly useful to be honest as I am not sure what I would do with that information. I do not plan on doing the little differences in variants between each airline as they mostly involve payload differences which FS2004 cannot do without you creating a separate aircraft.cfg. It is the same reason why we are only doing one variant of the JT9D-7 series of engines instead of the different subvariants like the older 15 stage variants.
