• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Broke libraries too?

I'm confused. OK, I'm trying to place a library object. This is an object that is in the list that comes with a scratch install of 1.65. I also downloaded the big thumbnail pack so I can see what they all look like.

Alright, I go to place a library object. It shows up in the list, I place it on the ground and see the box representing the object. This is all very familiar. (I've placed library objects before - including my own custom made objects.)

BUT - it doesn't show up in the airport in FSX.

So, I did a search on the referenced folder in LOM. In this case it is FSXP_Vehicles.bgl. When I do a search for that in my ADE folder, I find a folder with that name and a whole bunch of JPG files inside. What I don't see is a single bgl file.

So, question one is: why is LOM listing library objects that don't have an actual bgl file?

I then searched FSX for the same folder and got nothing back. I searched both FSX and ADE for the GUID associated with one of the models in the for this particular library and got nothing back.

Question two: should there be bgl files and something corresponding to the model GUIDs? If so, how do I replace them?

I'm guessing I somehow blew away generic models that either come with ADE or FSX?

What's wierd is I've used this library on other airports just fine. Now it's gone? But referenced?

Totally lost...

If you have Acceleration, FSXP_Vehicles.bgl is in FSX\Scenery\Global\Scenery

FSXP_Vehicles.bgl as you know are Acceleration bgl's so these bgl's will be in the Global/Scenery folder with 4 other FSXP bgl's these are the bgl's you import into ADE
also just double check the density settings you set for the library object and is the FSX settings higher or at least the same
sorry George cross posted

I don't know how I got these before if they're FSXA, but that explains it. Im' just FSX SP2

Thanks for clearing this up!
