CAT animation problem...

Hi,

I've got problem importing ASM files into CAT to make them animate. I uses FS2004 SDK with MDLCommander for exporting ASM files. But when I set up cat and load .asm file, I get error message 'Type mismatch - runtime error 13'.

I use last version of CAT.

Thanks for any hints how solve this problem.

Can you maybe sent me your ASM files (or attach them here on the forum)? Then I can run CAT in debug mode, I guess there is something the filename or so that is causing this error.

Here they are...

the path they are stored in is "C:\Program Files\Gmax\Meshes".

I works correct for me, can you indicate when you get this error? Which button did you press for example and which conditions are enabled?

Problem solved, it is all the time the same problem that is a bit "local" and a lot of people in czech are haveing different problems with this.

It is a national settings of valid decimal separator - I have to set '.' ( dot )as a decimal operator for CAT to work, WXP in czech localization always defaultly sets ',' ( coma ).

This is not the only program with such a limitation - I encounter this problem very often, but I always forgot to set the windows up each time I reinstall them.

Thanx for your help and may be you can mention it in troubleshooting section of documentation, because there are more people like me.

Hi Filip,

CAT should also work with a , as decimal symbol, it should only give trouble with compiling not with loading the files.

Can you tell me where you had the problem (which button you had pressed)? Maybe I can fix that as well then.

The problem apeared on screen where you select a file to import.

It the I use the browse button, than the error apears after pressing OK button in the Open window. If I fill in the path manualy, the error shows after clicking Next.

Thanks, I will see if I can locate it. When I tested here with decimal character set to comma it worked fine though.
