• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Conversion on MCX

Hello, Im using P3DV4.5 i have SDK instaled on my computer i want to put 3d models directly via MCX sadly is not working

the problem i can't see the model on p3dv4.5. I create file scenery & texture ;)
Please guys help me to fix this problem

Hi,

Are the bgl and textures files made in the folder you have indicated? And is that folder also active in the scenery library?

yes sure i add the files on scenery library on my p3dv4.5. But i think is not working because is generated for P3DV4.4 not v4.5 maybe .

Files made with the v4.4 sdk do work fine in v4.5, so that should not be the problem.

Hi,

If you want to place existing models then using SimDirector or any other object placement tool should do.

Hello to all.
I am trying to fix a flickering apron of a scenery in FSX sim. I import a P3dv4 BGL file with MCX and I export the file as FSX. At the end in FSX shows flickering tarmac apron. Tried again with MCX and the file in issue I open the Material Editor and even removing all items and leaving only the Tarmac. The tarmac apron still flicking in FSX.
Am I missing something with MCX version 140? Any help I appreciate.

Hi,

In FSX you can't use mdl files for ground polygons, as the material has no zbias property.

So you would have to use the FS2002 style ground polygons as the GPW makes.

Do you mean via MCX to export the file as FS2002 instead of FSX? Or, I should use a different program instead of MCX?

Great! ground bgl file worked as a gem. But, I have another bgl file which is giving a message: MCX Warning: Index Buffer Exceeds Maximum Size. So, It doesn't convert it to FSX. I tried to convert it to FS2002 and didn't save neither. What can I try?

EDIT:
Also, I have issues with the conversion p3dv4 to fsx via MCX and this video shows how lights posts disappears. I know there are 2 files related with that lights posts problem but MCX doesn't convert them properly.
