• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Creating a Global AI Shipping Package for FSX

I don't know if you are a "friend" of AIFP, it's not so different.
You need 3 files:
BoatsGreekaishipsx.txt
PlansGreekaishipsx.txt and
RoutesGreekaishipsx.txt

You have the trafficGreekaishipsx.bgl This file you have to decompile with AIBTC and then you have those three files!

Now you have to change the boats in the BoatsGreekaishipsx.txt file to the boats you wish.

Then you have to compile the 3 files (with the changed BoatsGreekaishipsx.txt) with AIBTC and you get the new
trafficGreekaishipsx.bgl. Put it to the same place as before and your boats are cruising!
Good Luck (and sorry for my English)

Hi folks.
I am new to this forum and was sent to this post because of the questions I was asking.
I have started the process of creating my own yacht that I will able to control. But at first, I just want to be able to look at my progress on FSX. In essence I want to create an AI yacht and park it somewhere that I can go look at it on FSX from the Deltasim Gemini boat that I purchased.
I am creating my yacht on Gmax. So after I am done exporting to and MDL file, how do I bring it in to FSX at a specific location?

Me again
I just thought of a question that has intrigue me from when I first stated running my boat in the canal systems.
Do you have any shipping lane that involves going thru locks?
And for those who might want to se my original post check it out under "FSX>Modeling"

Hi Flatterman,
Thanks for acting as stand-in support :)

Time is scarce at the moment and I struggle to get the package ready, but the Beta is set for next Friday. The AI ship traffic routes are being compiled at the moment - Africa is done; Australia and New Zealand done, the Pacific done - right now I am working on the Black Sea.

And of course from time to time a new ship comes out of the yard... Here the Danish Royal Yacht Dannebrog

Thanks Hendrik, I am waiting like a little boy on Santa Claus:santahat:
Christmas can be arriving early if you will help with the Beta test... First part of the Beta will be ready this evening... So far Oceania; Africa; South America West; Hawaii, and updates to Asia are finalized. No instructions available, but for those who want to help with the Beta I can provide a link. It is a precondition for Beta testing that all the other ship packages are installed as all 400+ ships are used. Please PM me if you want to help.

I tried, but I don't know if it has worked.

You just got a PM with the link.

What you should look for is...
  • AI ships colliding
  • AI ships stranded
  • AI ships without textures
  • AI ships colliding with static objects
  • Wake or other effect related issues
  • Ship sound
  • FPS problems - the new ships are slightly more detailed than the older ships
  • other problems
For one person to check everything is impossible, so chose where you want to fly and if you have scenery add-ons please tell me with what scenery you have tested e.g. I just installed Orbx Australia and NZ for the testing in Australia - but there might be other good free- or payware out there which have different coastlines or like some of the South African freeware includes ports which have ships blocking the entrance to the port.
Screenshots of problems or just nice screenshots if everything works perfectly are welcome :)

The areas most relevant to check with the files I am providing now are:
  • The English Channel
  • Hong Kong
  • Japan
  • Hawaii, Fiji, Tahiti, Seychelles, Maldives
  • Australian East and South East Coast
  • South Africa
  • Mexican West Coast
  • Black Sea

More files will follow as I finalize the first check

One step closer to release... The Brazilian shipping routes were updated with the new ships today - in the background Paulo Ricardo's FSX version of Fortaleza, Salvador, and Rio de Janeiro
