• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

CTD at loading latest build of MCX

Unfortunately I don't keep older dev versions around so I had to revert to 1.2 stable while waiting for Arno to update the zip file.

I installed the latest dev build to troubleshoot a problem in an earlier version where I was using MCX to look at some default fsx libraries, and using the "list objects" window to select and view a model would work for the first selection, but then crash MCX on the second selection. It didn't seem tied to a specific model, but before going further I was going to get the latest build :( I could restore from a backup of a week or so ago but will wait.

Hi Dick,

Thanks for spotting this, for some reason I made a typo (s at the end of the filename was missing). There is a new development release online now.

I indeed tested by putting the new version over the old one, that's why I did not spot it. So next time I will test in a clean folder.

I am also going to see if I can keep older development releases available on the download site.

Glad to hear that.

I must say I find the error message of .NET quite unclear, why does it not say "Can't find ParticleEffects.dll"? That would make it a lot easier to fix things :).

Release 1205 working now,...

What has been updated on my computer in the pass few days was NET Framework 2.0,... but if it was only a filename missing,... then makes sense,.... I have noticed NET Framework 4.0 has been updated recently also,... I would think they would combine some of these .

Hi Arno

Thanks for the latest release - it has fixed my problem with both MCX and FXEditor, it would seem I was missing the ParticleEffects.dll - and many thanks for your help and extremely useful tools

Kevin.
