• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

If I'm creating a custom aircraft to be used in a simpit, are the subsystems, specifically say the fuel system, defined in the aircraft config file? Is there somewhere outside the config file that also needs editing? Thanks

Sorry, I thought that was universal language for a physically simulated cockpit. Does the Air file define fuel systems? or is that just focused on flight profile? thanks

1 - TIP: Speak and write to be understood by every member of your audience.
Never assume anything about anyone/thing and always explain everything. The better and clearer you describer your (current) challenge(s), the quicker others are able to understand your situation and help you.

Does the Air file define fuel systems? or is that just focused on flight profile?
2 - The best place to learn more about the Air-file is start reading the online Prepar3D V4 SDK over here:
-https://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/LearningCenter.php - P3D v4 learning center homepage
-https://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv2/LearningCenter/simobjects/flight_models.html - <aircraft_name.AIR> FLIGHT-MODEL file contents
-https://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/sdk/simulation_objects/aircraft_configuration_files.html - <aircraft_name.CFG> CONFIGURATION file contents

I hope this materials helps you to to get going in the right direction.

The term simpit is actually a rather common phrase. Simply because you are not aware of it, does not make it uncommon. It is physically impossible to "speak and write to be understood by every member of your audience". You literally have no idea who comprises said audience on an open forum on the internet.

As for the OP... if you are looking for specific fuel system behavior, you would have to write code to define that if it is not something the default fuel system can accomplish.
