• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

Sine Yesterday, I have startet to Design Sencery for me realistic Airport(EDDG-Munster/Osnabruck). I watch an Tutorial for GMax to create TaxiLights(

A degenerate poly is (I think) one that has 0 size on a scale or one that is hidden by another one and wont show in the model.

I have no idea why you have them on planes.

I wouldn't worry about a couple on buildings and boxes etc, but re do those planes.

Did you make sure you were in Move mode (button is a 4 headed arrow) before entering 0,0,0 in the three boxes at the bottom to center the objects? If you were in Scale mode (button with Two boxes), it would have reduced the size of the object to 0.

More usually a degenerate poly has vertices all in line. Here's a plain old triangle:–

Now move the third vertex one unit to the right:–

That's still okay, Gmax is happy. Next move the third vertex one unit down so all three vertices are in line:–

Now the triangle has no width, only length. This will cause the exporter to cough.

So, if the error log lists vertices which have two coordinate values the same, it's describing a degenerate poly, eg:–

As long as things line up visually in the sim, there is no requirement that they be at 0,0,0.

To get rid of a degenerate poly error you simply weld all polys. But sometimes re welding does not work because you have extra polygon layers that are not needed and the polys can't weld. So once you locate these extra polygons simply remove them then re weld the polys. Now your error is gone.
