• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Development release download speed

This evening I did some more testing for the download speed and I hope I found the culpit. I found a switch in my house that seems to degrade the performance (the network cable going into it still has good speed, once I plug in to the switch it is gone). So I am going to replace that switch and see if that helps.

I notice the same 22.5 today, but its not a problem in my side I can wait a little ;)
 
The new switch should arrive today, so then I will replace it. Hopefully that fixes this issue.
 
I have replaced the switch now. Hopefully you are getting better download speeds again from now on.

@tgibson I would try clearing your cache in your browser. Hopefully, that should help.

Not sure Tom why you are still getting those slow speeds.
 
Faster download today, speed varied widely between 30 and 240 KB/sec.
 
Hi Tom, really weird. Rhumbaflappy told me he could download it in 7 seconds now, so I think the server is ok now.
 
It was 600-700 KB/sec for me when I downloaded yesterday, which is about what I remember it being before (At leased based on the time it took to complete).
Definitely a huge step up over what I was getting before you made that hardware swap.
 
22 secs to download the latest development version just now. Download speed about 3.5 mb/s on a 900mb connection.
 
Today the download speed was 1.3 MB/sec and only took a few seconds. Yay!
