• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hi

I am desperate in trying to solve the cockpit sound for the MJ C-47. Recently the gauge gives me an error message that certain sounds are not playing. I have not had this issue ever before. I therefore copied all the files from V3_1406 back into the folders as a new instl bt the issue persists. In the 1406 there are panel .cfg files for either 64 or 32 bit. I am using the 64 bit version of the .cfg file. I have attached them plus the message I get from the gauge. I confirm the .ini fle is in the sounds folder.

Any help would be appreciated.

Warm regards

Try either of these:

1) Look up the wav file in the folder and check if it plays okay.
2) in panel.cfg, disable/comment out gauge00=Douglas_C47!Main, 0,0,1,1 under Vcockpit01. (This references is a 32-bit dll and is unlikely to work anyway.)
3) Disable the present install and try a vanilla installation in P3D's own simobjects folder.

Good morning

I have followed the above instructions. The .wav file plays OK in the windows 10 Groove application.

I have attached mt latest error message.

Warm regards

I see you are now operating it from the sim's main simobjects folder, good.

Can you activate P3D's error reporting and see if you get any errors traced to KeyEvent_SND_C47.xml.

Is this particular .wav the only sound that refuses to play in sim?

Does it make any difference if you are in external or interior view?

Is this particular .wav the only sound that refuses to play in sim? - No it is all the interior panel sounds. The engine sounds are all perfect.

Does it make any difference if you are in external or interior view?
- I will try select a panel item e.g. call outs outside the VC.

Okay, thanks for testing. Some more ideas --

How about when you click items on the clipboard checklist (Shift-5). Does that produce any soundbites?

Is your C47_dsd_P3Dv4_xml_x64_sound.dll dated 01/01/2019?

Delete all FSX-specific dll`s and gau's from the panel folder.

In Settings > Sound, is the Voice item ticked ON and given sufficient volume?

Hi

Please find the error report. No sound either inside or outside.

Warm regards

I have attached some more mages for confirmation.

Everything looks OK as far as I can see, except maybe one last change: delete the file dsd_p3d_xml_sound_x64.dll. It is a copy of the file prefixed C47... and not referenced in the panel.cfg. It is almost impossible that its bare presence could create some sort of interference, but one never knows. Was it part of the original install?

I'll try the duplicate file setup on my rig, but otherwise I am sorry I am out of ideas ...
Edit: works fine here even with the file duplicated.

I eventually got the sounds to work by changing the folder optimization from Music to General. Working like it should, well.

Thank you all for the assistance and support
