• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hi, Arno!
I am using the latest version of the program (1.5.0.0 d886a80 DEV 15.11.2021). And now after performing drawcalls and minimize, the number of textures decreases, but in the list of properties remain the same textures and the same number of them. Is it possible to fix this and do as it was before, after drawcalls the textures are shown already common!

Hi,

I'll check if this is a bug or not. It could be those materials have other properties that differ instead of the texture. In that case they would still be different drawcalls. But if it worked in an earlier version it might also be a bug.

Hi,

I see what is happening. I made a change a while ago to store material names as well from formats that support it. In this case the different material names are causing the materials to show (although they are the same). I'll try to make a fix for this.

I have made a fix for this bug now, so in the next build it will work correctly again.

Hi! I checked the version of 19.11. Textures, which after drawcall - are shown normally, but those that were manually renamed - remain with the same names.

That's what I mean.
For example I have a object with many textures.

After drawcall and minimize I get two textures (for example, although there could be many more).

Then I rename the textures as I want them (whether I save them or not).

But in the list they remain with the same names, which is not very convenient, especially when there are really a lot of them. Before, they were immediately here too, with the other names I gave them.

Hi,

I had a look and actually it is not a bug. If you click on the material you will see that the material name is still Roofing_Shingles_GAF_Estates, but the diffuse texture has been renamed to the new name you provided.

Maybe if the material name is equal to the old texture name, it would make sense to clear that name, as it can indeed look confusing.

Hi,

I have changed the logic in MCX now. When you rename a texture and the material name starts with the old texture name, the material name is also renamed. It will be in the next build.
