• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Dump Airport List doesn't work

Hello,

I had got this problem already, but somehow it suddenly worked and now I have the same one...
I enter the airport list flilename and the logfile. If I enter an airport list file which doesn't exist, it says that it was unable to open that file and if I enter the existing airport list file, the tool crashes. Any thoughts?

Try running the tool as administrator.

Aside from that, I wouldn't use TDBB for AI traffic. AIFP is much better and easier.

Dump Airport List isn't a seperate application, it is part of the Traffic Toolbox DLL and can only be run via the FSX menu bar in-flight. However, I ran FSX as Admin and it worked! :)

BTW: In fact, TDBB is the only FSX traffic BGL compiler. Tools like AIFP simply use TDBB for compiling, so it doesn't matter which one you use. I like using TDBB as it's a simple and easy command line-based FSX SDK tool. But everyone who prefers AIFP should use that.

Well, as I understand it, AIFP and at least one other planner are completely independent of TDBB. One of the first planners for FSX that I remember was AIsort. It used TDBB and was subject to the limitations of TDBB.

Anyway, glad you got it to work.

Cmd may be simple for those who understand it. I prefer a UI.

It sounds like you have a rights issue with the folder where you want to write the Dump Airport List.

Which OS are you using, and which folder are you trying to put the list into?

Also, which folder is the TrafficToolBox SDK located in?

The only time I've seen the Dump Airport List fail was in FS2004 and it was caused by an error in an addon AFCAD.
