• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi all,
I put the EDVK Kassel-Calden Scenery on hold because of some terrain design issues that I wasn't able to solve. I probably reactivate the develpment sometimes when I'm in the mood ;-)
Instead I started with another, easier project. EDBC is a mid-size regional airport in Germany, just right for sparetime scenery tinkering.

Super Volker! Freue mich sehr darauf!
@ Heretic - i think since Ryanair dropped their flights from EDBC in 2013 there are no scheduled flights anymore, however some charter flights. But no hinderance for me to still operate some online flights there ;)

Hach ja, Charter nach "Berlin-Magdeburg" (ich hab' damals herzlich gelacht als der Vorschlag eingereicht wurde)...

Woow... that Looks astonnishing... hope you will compile the scenery for FS9 too... after releasing it for FSX... just like you did it with your Heringsdorf Scenery...
Would be awesome, to fly up to Magdeburgh in FS9 too... I'm really looking forward for that... hopefully...

Hi all,

thanks for feedback :-) And thanks to the great ideas, methods and knowledge shared in this forums I made some good progress especially regarding the night lightning effects.

...working on surface structures and adding details to the models. The poly count of serveral models is higher than their counterparts in my EDAH scenery - for example the runway and taxiway lights. They are more detailed and do look better but don't come with any noticable framerate cost yet. I guess I'm still far away from a critical triangle count.

Bye Volker

Wow, this looks way better than the version I tried to make :)
(Just noticed that I lost that one)

I'd be glad to download this fine scenery soon, since I'm living near it... When Ryanair had their scheduled flights the planes always made the turn for the approach over my house, so yeah...
EDBC is (or was) used in the last time for some German Aeronautical thingy (can't remember the name anymore). However, an Airbus came every one or two days from Braunschweig to make more than 10 touch-and-go's a day.
Although I think making this airport international is a total waste of money from Saxony-Anhalt, it's still interesting to see how it (kinda) evolves.
Again, I can't wait until it is released!
