• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Are there any aircraft developers or any developers (If we get enough members to join we can make channels for scenery and aircraft development) who will be willing to go on Discord so we can share info and help each other get started on this new venture? i am willing to be on Discord daily myself and think we can benefit if we meet up daily or a few times a week.

Feel free to message me. I do not mind organizing a channel everyone can meetup at.

I would like to see some of the regular aircraft developers i know join and you know who your are!:teacher:

A LOT of Minecraft and Fortnite players are gonna join the community... this is a GOOD thing... right?

...right?
If FS2020 releases it on console then yes we should have more traffic in the skies than ever. And to me this is a good thing as we might actually get paid what we deserve since console users are kids with parents credit cards.o_O And it should not bother the experienced simmers as they should be flying on Vatsim. So to me it's a good thing!

I have not been doing that in recent years, as I my time has been too limited to accommodate the 'temptation' to scan forums ...for way too many hours per week.

The beta and the beta forums are to shut down the morning of the 17th, pacific time. Then the storm will begin! A new shipment of popcorn should arrive prior to the 18th. :stirthepo

Could I ask for taco chips instead? The popcorn is getting monotonous and I’ve been through salted, plain, toffee and the other options four times now. Coffee is a different story, Monsoon Malabar has become a firm favourite! :coffee:

Wait so you are actually discussing whether it's a good or a bad thing that the genre is getting more attention than ever.. on a developers forum.
A growing market is the best thing that could happen to us from a developer point of view.

My wish is finally to get our most beloved military aircraft and helicopters soon into MSFS. For the last decades, all flightsims had been true evolution sims, means, we users (and free- and payware developers) could mount consistently with them. Most evolutionary stages could be took over to the next generation, in most case in an improved version. I cannot understand people who are able to dispense with this altogether...
Being condemned to relinquish all this aircraft and sceneries would signify my waiver of MSFS....regardless of the fantastic graphics....

Hello. I have not invested in MSFS2020... yet. One of my concerns (as I understand it) is that it requires "the cloud" to work. Is this true or can it run as a standalone without the Internet? Since MSFS2020 has some FSX, another concern is if they (MSFS2020 developers) corrected the operation of the flight director operation when flying in manual mode? I don't have any P3D sims but in FS9 and FSX, the flight director did not give the proper bank and pitch commands when flying an ILS approach in manual mode. Somewhere on this website, I pointed this out with snapshots of the issue. I've attached one picture here. There was a C type gauge written by someone named: Probst (sp?) in which his FD worked properly but only if the OBS was properly selected for the runway heading. But this was off a bit when there was significant crosswind. Technically, this should be not required as the signal should be based on the ground transmitters. As a background, I attended a B737 training session at United Training Center in Denver and, in the real world, the flight director gave the proper commands of bank and pitch that matched the general direction given by angular displacements shown by the CDI and GS indicators. I realize the flight sim doesn't have real transmitters but the CDI and GS do give the proper indication but the FD does not, as it should. Has this been corrected by MSFS2020?
