• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello Jon

Trying to install ADE_120 and I get this error message when the programme starts its scan:

"Destination array is not long enough to copy all the items in the collection. Check array index and length."

I have attatched a zip file of the log.

Many thanks for your programme.

Regards
Paul

Can I ask a couple of questions?

How far through the process when the problem occurs? (according to the log the scan had run for eight seconds before the crash - the scanner display shows the last or current file that it is working with as it goes through - can you see what that is?

Do you have any custom (non stock files) in your main Scneery Setup? We have seen something similar a long time ago with third party added scenery and a bgl that could not be read.

EDIT - bit further information - the problem is with a scenery object it would seem.

Hello Jon

Yes, the programme stops when the data base scan starts (new wizard section) and it stops on EGPH_Trees_FSX.bgl
and yes I do have some custom scenery - I'll locate them and remove them to a temp folder ouside of FSX, and then reinstall ADE.

I'll let you know what happens. Thanks Jon

That certainly looks like a file that might cause problems. Can you tell me where it comes from - is it freeware or payware?

Hmm, EGPH_Trees_FSX.bgl is part of the UK2000 Edinburgh Xtreme scenery and is only 31KB.

However, Jon, the next file is EGPH_GroundFSX.bgl which is 24MB and I think ADE has problems with Gary's ground sceneries.

I have UK2000 Edinburgh Xtreme installed in a tree other than FSX so ADE will not scan it on my system.

Quite right George. Have removed trees and ADE scans successfully.

Kindest Regards
