• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

For FS9, yes, using model tweaker.

For FSX, the transparency is too problematic to use these models. So, in that case, No.

I cant seem to get MDL Tweaker to read the texture bgl even after setting my path.C:\Documents and Settings\jerry\Desktop\texture and I tried both path options a and r.All I get is this that suppose to be a tree that does work in my fs well but trying to make it a face me object.

Even without seeing the texture you could just apply the tweak and save a new mdl file.

So with MDL Tweaker you changed the MDL file and than with that new MDL file you updated the library BGL?

I create a mdl file from my dae file on my desk top, then i load the mdl into mdl tweaker and chose rotate to user, apply to object, then i put the mdl into LibraryCreatorXML,create a bgl into a model folder on my desk top with a xml, create sbuilder object list code for the model picture and i add the code also to my list in sbuilder tools object models text file and i take the new bgl created from LibraryCreatorXML and put it into my Addon Scenery project scenery file, then i place the object with s builder. Its there but it wont face me still.

Let me check, I think a problem has been reported before. Mdl tweaker was designed to work with gmax made mdl files, but the ones modelconverterx make have a slightly different structure. So it might be they don't work, I'll double check that.

Hi,

ModelconverterX fs9 mdl's from collada files work in mdl Tweaker as well. And rotate to user then works as well.
Only thing is that it is sometimes difficult to find the correct rotation.

Unlike Roby, I could never get MDL files created by MCX to work in MDLTweaker. I tried and I tried...
