• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Fault Finder

It would be nice if the Fault Finder could detect "no runway link". I had an airport without errors, but AI disappeared before taxiing.

Just to be clear this is a check whether there is a runway link on a runway?

OK - but that is not necessarily a fault since there are plenty of runways at small airfields which don't have a runway link

What do you mean with "there are"? FS9 default airfields or addon sceneries?
AI aircrafts disappearing after clearance is a little strange in my oppinion.

Stock. Couple of examples 18FD and EGCW. They are generally small strips without a taxi network but there are a lot of them dotted about. Maybe they should be updated to give them a taxi network.

Hi, If I left them alone they make no problems, but If I try to change the airport with ADE and I forget to examine the rwy‘s and there is no black line, AI disappeare!

Runway centre lines are used only by Ai aircraft. The designer is the only person who knows whether to allow AI. So he also knows to add a centre-line.

It should not be the job of the fault finder.

BTW. The same applies to hold-short nodes. The fault finder does not check whether any are missing. Nor should it.

In prínciple you are right but I often found stock airports with parking spots and taxiways but no black rwy-line! So I thought all is OK and I had troubles with my AI.

I disagree, the fault finder should flag both missing runway lines and missing hold shorts.

In my opinion ADE is a powerful helper for designer of airports and the fault finder is part of ADE. It is right, you can design without AI-traffic, but I think AI-traffic complement airports.
Missing hold-short points you can see (or not) missing black rwy-lines you can't see generally.
In the meantime I know this difficulties and so I forget seldom to inspect the conditiones for a perfect AI-traffic. Except airports in the mountains;)
For beginners it would be better if the fault finder could indicate such missing things. (But I myself now can live without:cool:)
