• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Flickering Textures

Hey there,

I have a small problem. I'm using Blender 2.9 with Blender2MSFS Addon. I Have a building where curtains are behind a window. When i export it to MSFS, the curtains are flickering and i have no idea what's the problem. I've already tried to play around with the "Draw Order" parameter woithout success.

I'll post my material settings here. Maybe someone can help me :)

According to your screenshot, your glass material is set to "MSFS Standard" - wouldn't glass be a better option ?

Not certain about the glass, but the alpha for the curtain most definitely should be opaque. Also, anywhere the curtain is not, you will need textured/material faces, because untextured back faces are invisible and do not present whatever material is on the opposite face.

One of the most effective ways to avoid flickering is adjusting the origin position of each object. The origin of the curtain should be much further back than the window's origin position. This will force MSFS to draw the curtain first before drawing the window.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Seems like moving the pivot points helped to solve the issue. Although I think, exporting working MSFS Glass Material is one of the weirdest things :D

If I'd know that was the look you were going for, I'd have recommended parallax glass.
