• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi all,

It has been some time since I graduated, but now I have also found a job. From monday I will start working at the Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR).

The reason that I am letting you all know, is because I will no longer to able to reply to all your posts as fast as I did the last couple of weeks. From now on you will have to wait till I get home in the evening again :).

Sounds great for you !

Hi Arno,

bad for us - but very good for you !
Sounds like an interesting job .

:)

Great news. May you would let us know more about your work? Sounds very interesting! :teacher:

Also congratulations from me    - I'm happy to here that. In these times it's really a pleasure to have a job and even more if it is an interesting one. Your's sounds very interesting - can you tell us more about it?

That's good news, Arno! :) :) ;)

Luckily we live in the same time-zone - so when you get home it's also the best time for me to post questions. :D ;)

Thanks all for the congratulations.

I must say that I do not know all details yet, but I am going to work at the departments with the flight simulators at the NLR. I do not exactly know yet in which areas I am going to work, but from what I heard it will be with the visual databases and the F16 simulator. Both sound very nice to me of course :).

Maybe he gets paid allright, as long as he brings his own flightsim-tools with him? :)

Congratulations Arno, sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime job.

Bert

That's fantastic news Arno! I hope they realize what a great decision they made by offering you this position.
We, as friends and humble members of your site expect incredible things to happen at the NRL because of their wisdom.
Then again, I expect you'll be running the place in a couple of years anyway!

Hm, Arno working with flightsimulators... didn´t see that one coming! :D

Just kidding. Lots of congrats!

Well done Arno.
Since I can declare, and nobody can deny it, that maybe only one man over a million is so lucky to get a job (and be paid, of course, for it) that matters with is hobby, you are a living example that, anyway, this is possible :D :D :D
We will truly miss your fast replies to our dumb questions... !
Well, I wish you a good start and hope that you will be keeping on sharing your increasing experience with us, poor dummies ;)
Ciao.
Mauro.

Nice going Arno. I had a job that I just loved to do and it sure made it a lot easyer to go to work and work 14 or 16 Hr at. Hope that is the same for you to. good luck and will me talking and asking some more dumb question soon.

woody

Ummmm ... Arno?

You should change your user details - your occupation still reads "no longer a student, looking for a job" :D
