• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

HI
I have a problem with my scenery. I have a new aiport, compile to bgl files ect. Aiport is placed in fsx as well as on GPS ect. My problem is, that i have a trees and houses on my runaway ( aiport ). How to get rid of this ? Thanks, Paradyski

Hi,

You need to make an exclude for these. I don't think FSX Planner can make such a terrain exclude for you, so then you would have to try SBuilder or ADE. You can also make an airport background mask, which will also give you the grass like the default airports.

Well, its easy to say :) ... Iv got this idea to build aiport since yesterday, so everything ( how to do this ) its new for me. So if u don't mind to say how to do this ( quick and easy way ), i will be thankful. Cheers, Paradyski

BTW, this don't have to be fancy background, all i need is a bit of grass around my little airport, thats it :)

As Arno says - you need an airport background polygon to flatten and clear the land under your airport.

We can fix your airport for you but perhaps it is better if you can learn to do it yourself :)

Thanks guys
I wanna do it myself, i want to learn how to do it as i wanna do more aiports and information how is it done is vital. Im just watching some tutorial on YT. Its been added few days ago, so should be up to date ect.
What tool I can use, what is easy and quick ?

Hi,

I would suggest you try ADE first. It would be a replacement for FSX Planner, since it can do all FSX Planner can do, plus more. If you insist on using FSX Planner though, then you would need SBuilderX to make the airport background polygon.

Hi

I have done same thing on ADE, but same problem again. Im trying to add aprons. backgrounds ect but no improvement. Also when i compile file to scenery FSX it seem to be only 1kb ( two of them there )

ADE is a very powerful tool. I recommend that you read parts of the ADE Manual that pertain to adding poly backgrounds. There is also a short 4 part tutorial (with pictures) at the following link

Perhaps you can attach your ADE project file (.ad2 extension) to a post here. Then we can take a look at it for you and see if it works here.

..

I had a luck last nite, iv got aiport that seats nicely in my scenery. No autogen all over it, just good, but i have to practice more. As I said im only an average PC user, got hooked to FS and add new texture for my aircraft 2 last year ago was a challenge :) Today im trying to create something more with FS and i have a fun doing so, but its not straight foward sometimes and thats why i want to thank u people for helping me. Thanks guys. Paradyski
