• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi there,

I have created a certain flightplan for a Airforce Tanker, to land at FACT, and the aircraft do land on FACT, but dissapear as soon as the Aircraft came to a halt instead of park.

It dies take off from the departure airport. I have changed ATC codes and Parking codes, but with no luck. Could it be the Airport itself?

Any idea why?

Thanks,

Jakes

This is most certainly an airport problem. As you know, you must have a spot big enough for your tanker, regardless of of parking codes. Does other AI park OK? That might point to a parking mismatch. Have you altered this airport in any way? If so, make sure there are unbroken taxiways to parking.

Could also be an unlinked taxi node too close to the hold short node where the aircraft is getting off the runway.

Thanks Gents, I think I solved the issue...

Two things:

1) I have corrected the parking radius of the aircraft (it was bigger than needed)
2) The aircraft ATC parking codes was for MIL_Cargo only, so I added GATE, Ramp and GARGO as well.

Now I have another issue, some of the tankers (all the same aircraft) dont land at all, they keep going around, and eventually dissapear. But I saw some of them land. Could it have something to do with the fact that in the Flightplan I used different aircraft numbers than in the cfg?

Thanks,

Jakes

Glad things are working better.
You can use any reg # you want in the flight plan. A parking place too big shouldn't matter, too small does matter. And yes, the correct parking code helps. Are you sure there wasn't a plane waiting to take off, or not clear of the runway when your tanker kept going around? It is possible for some other plane to have prior clearance and the tanker will be called off.

Okay, The Landing are sorted, but now I'm back to the parking issue...

I was at Cape town International, where 747"s are landing AND parking, but for some reason, my 707 just land and then dissappear. Everytime there was almost no traffic at FACT.. so plenty of parking space. I also checked the Airrcraft radius againts 747's, and even made it smaller (35m) but still the same problem.

I guess its something small I overlook...

A 707 should park in a Gate_Small space by default.

Are the planes you are using made for for AI. Sometimes user planes don't make good AI planes.

Again, is this the stock FACT?

Bob

Thank you for the reply :)

I made the 707 especially for AI. Low poly's, minimum animation and the minimum textures to keep framerate as low as possible.

the Airport is Aeroworx airport, so no, not the stock one. BUT after I reinstall the aeroworx scenery, the AI landed 100%, as well as on my test pc at home.

so I think it is sorted. will get more feedback from testers in good time.

Appreciate all the help!
