• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Planner release 15 now available (June 7)

Hi, Russell

Sometimes, to adjust runway direction with GE image we need to change values in the second and even in the third decimal place. So, please, display Mag Var and runway heading with three decimal places, also.

Thanks a lot,

José

I've made the adjustment so that all values can be adjusted to 3 decimal places. That'll be in the next release.

You know at many airports their are crossing (crosswind) runways? By default while they are both open, they arn't in use simulatniously. Jim Vile formulated a method with AFCAD to allow FSX and FS9 to use both runways, getting rid of much AI traffic go arounds and delays. He's pointed me in the right direction with regards to setting this up, but its still a painful process, particuarly for somebody like me with not a great deal of background in this sort of thing.

While I said it in jest, if you could make an easy way to do it then I'll name my first born son Russell...

Kael

I'll certainly look into incorporating it, especially if you can let me know what you have discovered. Perhaps PM me with the details?

Mate I'd love to but I havn't really attempted it properly myself. Jim Vile is the man to speak to.

To be honest, IMHO I don't really think its the sort of thing that needs to be included in FSX Planner, largely because I don't think there is an easy way to do it. From what I understand it involves creating a number of other runways, at differing locations, that don't end up appearing within the airport itself.

I've never read or heard about that!

Jose

I released a "How To" (back when FS9 was released) on opening all runways at one time for any airport.

Over 42,000 accesed the post over the years so someones heard about it.

Many AFCAD's for FS9 uploaded all over the place have my Xwind technique added.

Download my FSX KJAX on AVSIM (the xml is there also) and you will see it in action.

It is a function of any type Utility such as ADE/FSXP/AFCAD once they are in a more complete stage.

At present you have to design the xcosswinds with AFCAD and then port over to ADE or FSXP xml. Xwind also allows the User Plane to select any runway for takeoff or landing through the ATC window based on winds.

Both Ray Smith and Patrick Finch are activating the Xwind runways in their FSX airports on AVSIM.

Activating Xwind runways is actually a code in FS9/FSX but my request to activate over at MS continues to fall on deaf ears.

Once ADE/FSXP is further along I will write a new "How To" if Reggie don't beat me to it that will show how it is done using ADE/FSXP. The original How To is gone from PAI AFCAD forum.

So you mean that the ATC Code field has the cursor in it, then you'd want that to remain the focused field for the next parking spot you click on? Then you could just quickly go from one parking spot to another and adjust that property more quickly?

Yes

(Sorry about slow reply)

Also - not sure if this is a BGLComp issue, or FSXPlanner.

Can't assign more than one parking code to parking space (error states that parking codes can only be 4 digits long - or do I need to use a comma or something as a separator)

Thanks

If I recall correctly you need to put a comma between each code, then it should work.
