Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:
- Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
- Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
- Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
- Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
- Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
- Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.
Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.
By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.
FSX STEAM without STEAM

Hi,
Some games can be opened without Steam, I'm not sure about FSX SE but the best way to know is doing a simple test, but don't use or open Steam, just find the FSX Steam installation folder and execute fsx.exe, you'll know if works or not.

If im click fsx.exe, he call steam together.

Apparently FSX SE must use Steam, just tried some games and some of them can run without steam. For FSX you might need to find another option, my suggestion is to upgrade to Windows 10 but if is not possible, I can't see another option.

Support for Windows 7 already ended in 2020, so it is not really a good idea to still have a machine with Windows 7 connected to the internet that no longer gets security updates and such. I would say it is time to go to a newer and supported OS version. Why is that not possible for you?

I need time, as I have a big job lined up to deliver to a client! I work with documents, so I need to stop, format from scratch, install (I don't like installing over) and especially money, as my desktop will be 10 years old and wouldn't support a new OS, due to memory, HD and the like, so This downtime requires money and time, which I don't have at the moment, hence the desire to drag it out for another 3-6 months with Win7 / FSX-SE. With a new PC and solutions for AI Traffic on MSFS it is the natural path.
