• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,
I have hard times trying to get rid of those flying lights (see picture, native from the game, AI generated ...), I want to replace them with real poles/pylons. I tried polygons, exclusionpolygons, rectangles ...
If you have any idea ...
many thanks !

IIRC, those "Orbs" are placed by MSFS default scenery, and reportedly may be derived from OSM vector placements.

While they can illuminate photogrammetry, they also illuminate other scenery content such as 3D models etc..

I am not yet certain what exclude attribute to use, Exclusion Rectangle or Polygon.

But IIRC, there is a mention of that info in FSDEV threads.

Ah.. those pesky floating orbs!
As GaryGB has mentioned, they are associated with the default/TIN generated buildings.
You *can* get rid of them using exclusion polygons with 'exclude street lights', however, you'll soon discover that the position of the exclusion polygon more often than not doesn't tie up with the position of the orbs!
You'll need a bit of trial and error to determine where you need to place the exclusion polygon in order to zap the orbs.
As an example, the picture below shows the the exclusion polygon (at the top of the picture) that was required to remove the orbs that were appearing along the yellow line!! - go figure?!

Thank you Gary and Richie ... I eventually managed to remove them with a polygon, only with street lights exlusion needed as you said ... And yes, the orbs were really far away from the polygon ! :p
I have not even thought at all about seraching for the keyword "orbs" :) Thx again !
