FS2004 Getting back corrupted files in Gmax??

When all else fails. In Windows 7, select the corrupted gmax file, right click on properties. Give yourself administrator rights to start, then click on the Previous Versions tab. There should be backed up copies there. Its a backstep, but at least it's there.

there is another way

Click OPEN and change the file type to ANY

nav to the AUTOBACK folder in gmax and you will see some autobak files, simply load the newest one
And remember to save 'next one up' constantly and 'alot!' You can always delete some later down the road, but during the build process, save as much as possible...
