• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Once again I have delayed the launch, but the fleet is growing - around 200 new ships between repaints and new models... Main reason for the delay is that I am updating all models with light effects at the same time as the wakes. I had some issues with Blender not displaying what you see in the sim... but slowly getting there.

Your ships are pretty much the only reason I ever start MSFS up. If only airborne AI could be so good. Actually, if only airborne AI could work at all!

Your new nightlighting artwork looks - as always - incredible KL791

QUESTION: Have you ever considered creating your own stand-alone SHIP-Simulator?
(instead of continue to add your awesome and beautifull artwork into somebody elses FLIGHT-simulator)?

No, I am not a programmer; most of all I use modelling to relax. Right now sitting with a dog sleeping on my feets adding a new ro/ro ferry to the fleet... And as Marc says this whole project is conceived as AI - models have become more detailed over the years as the sims and my skills evolved, but still this is not done for being really close.

Long time since last real update... But now we have some news.... We are going real time. Together with Kai from AIG we have managed to get the first 57 ships - the total fleet of the passenger and freight ferry operator DFDS - into the sim real time. DFDS provided both AIS data and documentation to model their ships and after some intensive work, where I have added models while Kai worked on the injection, we are now so far that we can show screenshots from the test run.

The real time version means that ships will dock in harbors and behave much more realistic and be in the right places. And while the DFDS package is our proof of concept we have something much bigger brewing, but will let you know in due time.

In addition to the real time we will also up our fleet with a bunch of new models including e.g. fishing boats for the North Sea, Pacific and Indian Ocean but also in collaboration with the German Sea Rescue DGzRS their fleet of coastal rescue boats.

Hello Henrik,
these are very interesting news (I still have a rescue cruiser of the DGzRS to give away ;)).

I just hope that MS/ASOBO don't ruin all your work when they start to make the announced changes to the water and bathemetry.

By the way, have you found a way to eliminate the circling of the ships at the mooring points?

I think more than just the rescue cruise of your fleet will be included :D and yes, with the real time version we kill the circling, however, we still have some issues when the ships do a 180 degrees turn to dock as the data we receive has gaps. But already it is much, much better.
