• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Happy birthday to ...

It's now two years ago since I registered this domain and started with SceneryDesign.org. I thought it would be a nice thing to mention :). This is also a good moment to say thanks to all the people who contribute to the forum and make this an interesting place for scenery designers.

But this might also be a good moment to look ahead and see if things can be improved further. So if you have suggestions on how to improve this website or make it more useful, please reply to this thread and share your ideas.

I for example notice that I have more ideas then I have time. I for example would like to write a lot more tutorials if I had the time to do so. So I would once again like other users to suggest their own tips and tutorials as well. I would be more than happy to place them in the tutorials section.

I already mentioned the lack of time (or would the problem be that I have too much ideas?). This is also something I notice with the tools I am working on. I have that many ideas for them, that I can't finish them as fast as I would like to. Therefore I am thinking about ways to work more efficient. One thing I notice is that it takes me quite some time to write manuals and prepare for releases. So if there is somebody out there who would like to help with writing the manual, prepare the installers, help with designing the graphical users interfaces, or what ever, let me know and we can discuss things.

So once again, happy birthday, to us all :).

Happy Birthday too !

Hi Arno,

Happy birthday too ! Your website is a great source for information and i am lucky that it is alive and well.

And thanks too for your fantastic ObjectPlacer XML - the features with placing own gmax-object-mdls fast and creating generic buildings with an interface is really great :teacher:

I am excited for the next 2 years !

Congrats to us all!! :D :)

I just found out that I'm already on of the top writers here on scenerydesign.org, and I'm proud to be, because this forum is without any doubt the best I know in the net. I'm pretty active in a german forum, but here's where the real stuff is. :)
A very big "thank you", Arno, for this forum and all of what you give to it.
I hope, I can give more than taking in future, for I'm still a beginner in scenerydesign, but you can ask me anytime to help you with what I can. ;)

For the future, I hope that there are more people that share their great ideas and tools with each other, because that is, what brings us further.

How about making scenerydesign.org a platform for special sceneries, so that we can give support to our scenery-projects here in the forum? I'd like that.

Well, let's look foreward to the next 2 years - there's a lot more to come... ;)

I would be offering forums for scenery design tools without trouble. So anybody who made a tool and needs a support forum is welcome I would say.

But I am not so sure about offering support for the end products as well. This site is really for scenery designers. If we get a lot of "normal" FS users here I am not sure it that would work out fine. The discussions here are a bit too technical in general I guess and that might be confusing for them. So I think it is better to focus on the designers only.

Thanks to Arno, an incredible guy
Thanks to everybody!
Internet is a better place with SceneryDesign.org :santahat:

All the best!

Hi Arno, and anybody else too.
Long life to this meritory web site. As a dummy in FS scenery-design :D you can be lead step by step in this challenging "art" by Arno & co. and, maybe at least, you become able to export a box from gmax to FS... (something I could never do w/out the help of this great forum :rotfl: ).
No doubt: the best FS scenery design site on the web.
Keep on like this.
Ciao.

Congrats! This site has been sooooo helpful to me, I cant even describe it in words. Everyone here is truly devoted to FS scenery design. And Arno, thanks for your tips that you have given and that you will give (i will never figure out how to do half the things needed). Long live scenerydesign.org. Oh, by the way, I cant seem to think of anything to improve. :D

Hi Arno.

It seems to have gone by very quickly! I'm glad the website is a success. I hope it's here 10 years from now!

Looking forward to the next two years, and FS10.

Dick
