• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.

    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

I've just started to learn how to crate and place scenery in FSX and I've been trying to place a building I created with sketch-up in fsx, and using the directions at:

http://www.calclassic.com/sketchup_tutorial.htm

i get to step 30 and I'm stuck because:

a. i can't figure out where i'm suppose to put the .BGL and textures (it says to put it in an active scenery file...i dont know what that means)

b. i have Instant Scenery but no idea how to use it.

Can someone please explain to Captain Ignorant how this works please?!?

Hello Dave,...

Maybe the best place to start is placing the bgl files in the /Addon Scenery/scenery/ directory the textures get placed in /Addon Scenery/texture/ directory...

Sorry I can't help you on Instant Scenery but you can use ADE to place the objects.. There are quite a few Placement Programs to place the objects that you create... with ADE you will have to read up on how ADE will read your new objects into ADE.. it will be under the Library Object Manager (better known as LOM). But that should get you started,.. even FSX has a Placement tool you can use temporarily to test out your objects also.

Hope it helps,...
