• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

NOTE

I have stickied this thread since I am still getting reports of a virus in the ADE production download. This thread shows tests with many different virus checkers and confirms that there is no virus or other malware in the download. The issue is with the software reporting the problem or other malware on the users computer.

======================================================

I have had two reports recently from folks using Windows Defender/MS Security Essentials that the ADE production download contains a Trojan. My virus checkers do not find any problem with this file. I suspect this is a false positive created after a routine update but I would appreciate y'all downloading the file and letting me know what virus software you are using and whether it reports an issue. That way I can be surer that this is a false positive and that my checking software is not having a bad day. The zip file to download is here:

Thank you :)

That appears to be in FSX SDK and not in the downloaded zip file. Can you please try scanning just the downloaded file - if that is possible?
I can't open the zip file
so when i click on the more options tab to accept download anyway
accept download anyway does not appear in the more options tab
i can't drag to desk top or do anything with it
i think i would have to uninstall msse to download it and scan it with malwarebytes

OK - then there seems to be some situations where MSSE is blocking it but not for others o_O

ebo,

What is the date of your MSSE definitions?

Thanks guys - please keep them coming for a bit if you have not already tried. Seems there is an issue with MSSE for some users but I don't know why

Jon,
File tested using ESET version 9 database 13423 (latest as of 20 mins ago). No virus found. O/S Windows 10

Well that is certainly what was picked up by MSSE and quarantined. Based on the message in your screenshot the trojan was in asm2air.exe. I am not sure why the zip was blocked - perhaps you could put up some screenshots for that?

I have know problems//no virus//no trojan
I had Prepar3D_v2_SDK_2.5.12946.0 installed in the sdk3 folder
could it be Prepar3D_v2_SDK_2.5.12946.0's fault
Do you still want me to take some screen shots and get the details
with the p3d sdk installed
