• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi to all,

is it possible to use a libary object like a small sailboat together with a time variable? I'd like to use some sailboats just to be shown at the time from april to october. If it is possible, where do i have to place the code in the following example??

<!-- Scenery Object 92-Boot mit Segel -->
<SceneryObject
lat = "53.561312982496"
lon = "10.010408086781"
alt = "0.0"
altitudeIsAgl = "TRUE"
pitch = "0.0"
bank = "0.0"
heading = "70.0"
imageComplexity = "SPARSE">
<LibraryObject
name = "2bf74ea24a067df84f077b9a4090907d"
scale = "1.0"/>
</SceneryObject>

Thanks an regards

Dirk

I think, you have to use attach tool from fs2004 gamepack...
Read attach tool manual :)

Hi Dirk.

You cannot make time-based displays from XML... this applies only to effects.

If you are using the default FS9 objects, you can't alter the ASM code, so they must be placed using older code ( SCASM API code would be fine ).

If the boats are your Gmax design for FS9, then you can alter the ASM code so they display only in the time frames you want.

Hi again,

thanks for your quick answer....

Dick, sorry, but what is the asm code? Is it from Gmax...? And could you give me an example, how a time-based code could look...??

Thanks a lot,

Dirk

Hi Dirk.

Did you make these sailboats with Gmax and the FS9 makemdl?

Arno has a Tools section in these forums, and in there you'll find MDL Tweaker... which will alter the MDL code to allow things like seasonal display.

There is also a BGLC Editing forum devoted to exploring ASM code ( which is the source code compiled by BGLC ).
