• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum

P3D v5 How to create / exclude extrusion bridges in P3D?

Hi everyone!!

Recently my old computer started freezing & artifacting after I completed my most recent FSX flight in July, so I built a new one & tried to see if FSX would work on it, but its not compatible, so I made the switch to P3Dv5. However, in P3Dv5, I like it ever since but I noticed that there are extrusion bridges on roads as overpasses but it is in the way of the roads, & so I would like to exclude those and add them to places where I'd like to add them. I was able to add them in FSX with Sbuilder, but how do I do that for P3Dv5 ? I tried doing it with Sbuilder (latest version) for P3D but all I got was error messages every time I clicked the nodes/lines in Sbuilder & Sbuilder does not detect my P3Dv5. Is there an alternate way?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Hi,

You can still use SBuilderX to add them to P3Dv5 as well. The format for the bridges has not changed. What kind of errors do you get?

Hello:

Run installers for FSX- and FSX itself- with Administrator privileges, and it will operate compatibly in all versions of Windows back to XP.

Be sure to install the latest version of FSUIPC for use with P3Dv5 and SBuilderX, as well as ADE.

Assuming your use of P3Dv5 means you have a 64-Bit version of Windows installed, you want:

FSUIPC6 v6.1.5 for Prepar3D Versions 4 & 5 [ONLY]

[64-bit]

This will allow SBuilderX (and ADE) to connect with P3D versions 4 and 5.

You may also need to install the SDK for both P3Dv1.4x and P3Dv5.x:

SBuilderX v3.15 (64-Bit) may require that you install VB6 Runtimes as well:

You may wish to review this thread for info on installing / configuring SBuilderX:

You may need to swap between files for P3D SDK versions 1.4x and 5.x to enable SBuilderX output of 'some' scenery types ...as described here for P3Dv4:

Indeed, as Arno asked, we would need to know what error messages you are getting in order to provide more specific help. ;)
